Minor iTunes Rant

To anyone who is putting in CD track names in iTunes (and maybe anything else that uses CDDB) — when you have a greatest hits album for a particular artist, the Is A Compilation checkbox should only be used if there is more than one artist. Otherwise, it’s not a compilation.

Yes — I realize that a greatest hits compilation would seem to be a compilation by it’s very name. But, as far as iTunes is concerned, it really isn’t. The compilation flag is used to indicate that there is more than one artist on the disc.

Now, why Apple didn’t simple automate this behavior instead of leaving it out there for confusion’s sake is beyond me. Maybe someone else can explain that…
